Marilyn Joan “Joni” Bahr, age 90 of Pine River passed away Monday, October 12, 2026 at Ascension Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh, with her family by her side.
Joni was born December 4, 1935 to Norman and Mildred (Waite) Rogers. She graduated from Wild Rose High School, and went on to study business at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
On June 1, 1954, Joni married the love of her life, Eugene Bahr. They were blessed with three children, Roger, Paul, and Sara.
Joni worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh, and other nursing homes. She always gave the best care that she could to everyone she cared for.
Joni loved working outside, and spending time with the animals, especially her minature horses.
Joni is survived by her sons, Roger (Sheri) and Paul Bahr, and grandsons, Alex and Ryan. She was preseded in death by her parents, her husband, Gene, her daughter, Sara, her daughter-in-law, Medina, her sister, Jeanette, and her brother, Clifford.
Joni will always be remembered for her strong faith that gilded her through life’s challenges and joys, providing comfort and strength to those around her.
She liked to begin each day with Psalm 118:24, “This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
The family would like to thank the medical staff at Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh for the compassionate care they provided.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
