The Westfield Pioneers took on the Adams Friendship Green Devils to a nearly packed house. First on the board were the Pioneers and it looked like it was going to be an evenly matched game. The first period ended with Westfield ahead 19-17.
The Green Devils were just wearing out the Pioneers in the first period before putting on a full court press, to which the Pioneers dominated in free throws. In the last two minutes of the game the Green Devil took it to the final buzzer for a 44-44 tie.
The crowd was on its feet as the game went into overtime, with both student bodies loudly cheering their teams. The Pioneers were able to pull off the win 54-49.
High scorers were Senior Sam Berruecos-Morales with 27 points, Senior Keegan Hockerman for 11 and Junior Austin Lyon at 10.
