Lady Hornets outmatched by Lady Pumas

Wautoma’s Lady Hornets welcomed the Poynette Lady Pumas to their home court on Jan. 7 during a back-to-back night of girls’ and boys’ basketball action. The home-court advantage did not work in the Lady Hornets’ favor, as they were outmatched by the Lady Pumas who took an 84-44 win back home with them.

Senior Maddy Meyer led the Lady Hornets with 14 points on the board, including 3 of 4 free throws. Senior Larissa Piechowski and Cami Nitz added 9 points to the mix, followed by Kelcey Michalski adding 6 of her own. Claire Swen put up 4 points and Addison Kirn 2.

The Lady Hornets will be traveling to Nekoosa on Thursday, Jan. 16 for their next round of conference basketball action.
