Eagles defeat Wild Rose neighbors, 54-30

The Almond-Bancroft Eagles played host to their neighbors, the Wild Rose Wildcats on Jan 7.

The tone of the game was set quickly as the Eagles jumped out to an early lead which they would maintain throughout the match, outpacing the Wildcats by 12 points in each half. The game was laden with referee whistles as the two teams racked up nearly 40 personal fouls before the final buzzer with two Wild Rose players finding themselves fouled out of the game in the final minutes and several Eagles starters spending extra minutes on the bench for fear of the same fate.

Seniors Ayden Phillips and Clarence Pratt led the Eagles effort with 13 points each. Phillips added another double-double to his year with 14 rebounds on the night; he currently has 9 double-doubles this season.

Wild Rose senior Logan Erdman topped his team’s scoreboard with 10 points. Wyatt Bowen added 7 of his own, while also managing 5 rebounds. Jayden King also recorded 6 rebounds for the Wildcats.

You can catch the Eagles at home again this Thursday, Jan. 16th at 7:15 p.m. when they’ll host the Wabeno/Laona Rebels. as part of a double header with the girls varsity teams playing first at 5:45 p.m.
