Tom and Gloria Happersett, owner of Happ’s Trees, Neshkoro, won the State Grand Champion award for an 8 foot fraser fir they entered in the contest at the annual state Christmas tree convention held on Aug.

The Wautoma Kwik Trip made a $1,000 donation to the Waushara County Emergency Medical Services on Aug. 29 to help fund the community CPR and Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) programs. The programs are important when someone experiences a sudden cardiac arrest outside of a hospital.

Almond-Bancroft junior Derek Baumgartner drove the ball up the middle in the Eagles’ 34-0 home victory over the Rio Vikings on Aug. 26. The Eagles move to 2-0 on the season and will host Tigerton/Marion on Sept. 2.

Wild Rose pulled out a 20-15 win over Potosi on Aug. 26. The Wildcats had gotten off to an early 7-0 lead after going 61 yards to score. Tommy Friday caught a 37-yard pass while Lucas Hackney put in an 11-yard run.

Members of Fit Friends for Life, a group that meets at Candle Freak and Gift Shop every Friday morning, donated the proceeds from the ribbons they handed out to area residents and businesses to the Wautoma Police Department.
