Mabel Baumann named to the WHS Wall of Staff

A plaque of former Wautoma High School principal, teacher, and counselor Mabel Baumann, who was employed at Wautoma High School from 1947 to 1977, was named to the WHS Wall of Staff at the Over-50 Club Class Reunion, held at the WWII Memorial building on July 19.

 
Little sprouts

When Little Sprouts Discovery Center Non-profit, Inc. was established in 2001, Executive Director, Grant and Fundraising Coordinator Krista Sobieski made it a point to offer a quality childcare program for parents living in a rural area.

Around the 10-year mark, Sobieski began thinking of ways to help improve the daycare program in Redgranite. Understanding that she was unable to physically and financially provide everything the Little Sprouts program needed, Sobieski began looking into making the childcare center a nonprofit organization.

Grace Lutheran Church celebrates Welcome Sunday

Welcome Sunday will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on July 20, beginning with a worship service at 10:15 a.m.

A cookout will follow the service under the tent in front of the church. The public is invited to attend.

Grace Church is located at W10805 County Road C, between Hancock and Wautoma, and is served by the Rev. Dale Bahls.

 
Local artists needed for Senior Center “CHAIR-ity”

The Waushara-Wautoma Senior Center is currently looking for artists throughout the area to help with a “Chair-ity” fundraiser that will be held on Nov. 1 from 5 to 9 p.m.

The 1950s “retro” chairs are available at the senior center, W8220 Cottonville Avenue and Highway 22, Wautoma, for any artist or creative individual that would like to participate in the event. Only 24 chairs remain out of the 30 available, so artists are encouraged to act fast.

 
Wautoma School Board approves area businesses for honor roll

The Wautoma Area School Board approved five local businesses to their honor roll at their regular meeting held at the District Office on July 14.

The Wautoma area businesses selected for the Wautoma Area School District’s Honor Roll for the 2013-14 school year included: Martz Insurance, Reilly Motors, Dollar General, Shopko Hometown, and WAUH The Bug.

 
Senior center in need of Packer fabric scraps

The Waushara-Wautoma Senior Center is in need of help for their fundraising project.

Anyone with Packer fabric scraps (any size), including green, gold, a “G” letter, or Packer football themes may either drop scraps off at the Senior Center or call 920-787-2055 to have someone pick them up.
