Redgranite Village Board approves 2014 tax levy PDF Print E-mail

Following a public budget hearing on Nov. 21, the Redgranite Village board approved a 2014 tax levy of $224,972, an increase of .0018 percent from the 2013 levy of $224,559.  The board also approved the 2014 water utility budget of $255,864, and the 2014 sewer utility budget of $379,652.  Budget workshops were held on Oct. 24 and 29.

The Coloma Village Board meeting was held on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Coloma Community Center. The Coloma Business Association requested a parade permit for the Coloma Christmas Parade and tree lighting that will take place on Saturday, Nov. 30 starting at 5 p.m. They also acknowledged Heath Farms for the donation of a Christmas tree. Ken Lewko reported that all the Christmas tree lights would be put up after Thanksgiving.

The Hancock Village Board meeting was held on Nov. 11. The Pine Lake District requested that a member of the board be on their board as a community member. Larry Monroe was nominated and accepted the position.

 
City of Wautoma Common Council appoints Ed Hernandez to fill alderman vacancy PDF Print E-mail

During the regular City of Wautoma Common Council held at city hall on Nov. 11 the council unanimously appointed Ed Hernandez to fill the vacancy left by Alderman Robert Helbing.  Helbing resigned on Nov. 8 to fulfill his service to our country in the United States Army. He has left for training and is scheduled to be deployed to Kuwait later this year.  Hernandez has lived in Wautoma for the past 15 years and works for Waushara County Land Conservation and Zoning.  The appointed position term expires in April of 2014.

 
Wild Rose Village Board meets Nov. 6 PDF Print E-mail

The Wild Rose Village Board listened to the police report during a Nov. 6 meeting.

Police Chief Russ Saunders talked to the board about the process of ordering a new squad car versus sticking more money into the present squad with repairs. The board told Chief Saunders he can continue the process of ordering the new squad car.

Following two years of lake studies, the Waushara County Lakes Project will begin drafting lake management plans (LMPs) for Pleasant and Irogami Lakes at the first of four monthly public meetings on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Waushara County Courthouse Demo Room.
