Give your household budget a tune-up

UW-Extension Family Living offers tips

If you feel like your paycheck is not keeping up with your everyday expenses, you may be right. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the median household income is down for many families across Wisconsin.

From 2009-14, all but two counties in Wisconsin, Adams and Florence, had stagnant or falling median household incomes. Household expenses continue to creep up each year, with inflation rates around 1.5 percent.
