Support the A+ After School Program at Reach the Peak on Saturday, Oct. 12

Come out to Nordic Mountain on Saturday, Oct. 12 to enjoy the fall weather and colors while supporting the A+ After School Program at the 12th Annual Reach the Peak Event.

The event races include a 1 Mile Kids Fun Run for 0-12 year olds, a 5K Run/Walk, and 15K Run (open to any age). The 5K and 15K offer road and trail running that includes a challenging half mile hill climb up to the top off Mt. Morris Park, followed by a descent down one of the slopes of the Nordic Mountain Ski Hill to the finish line. Runners enjoy the majestic autumn views all along the route but especially when they reach the top, looking out over the countryside. Because of local businesses and volunteers, runners will receive a fantastic goodie bag along with finisher medals for the 15K & 1 mile kids run, placing awards by age division and gender, and award baskets for the top male and female of each event.

The event draws people from around the state and a few out of state to participate each fall. The crisp air, beautiful changing colors and rolling hills make the drive to Mt. Morris alone worth it.

This year, the event fea-tures: kids activities (obstacle course, face painting, and pumpkin bowling) and brat fry (free for participants and volunteers) in coordination with the race from 9:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. at Nordic Mountain.

For information or to register visit www.reachthepeakrace.com. Sponsors and volunteers can email reachthepeakrace@gmail.com for details on how to get involved.
