The City of Wautoma is proud to announce that on July 17, Police Chief Paul Mott graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Command Course.
The National Command Course is an executive-level leadership program developed by the FBI specifically for law enforcement executives. The program provides police chiefs and other command-level leaders with advanced training in strategic leadership, organizational management, community relationships, and contemporary issues facing law enforcement agencies.
Chief Mott was selected to participate in the nationally recognized program alongside law enforcement executives from agencies throughout the United States. The intensive course provides participants with an opportunity to learn from experienced law enforcement leaders while developing strategies that can be applied to their own agencies and communities.
“The opportunity to participate in the FBI Academy was an incredible professional experience,” said Chief Mott. “I am grateful for the amazing instructors and am most appreciative for the working relationships made with peers from Alaska to Maine.”
“The Wautoma Police Department is fortunate to have a chief who continues to seek out opportunities to improve his leadership skills and bring new ideas back to our department,” said City Administrator Tommy Bohler.
Chief Mott has served as Chief of the Wautoma Police Department since 2021 and brings more than 31 years of law enforcement experience to the position. Chief Mott is the first law enforcement executive from the Wautoma community to graduate the FBI Academy. Mott is also a graduate of the DEA Academy and Northwestern University.
