The Wautoma Hornets scored their fifth win of the season with a 9-3 finish over Poynette on May 2.
The Hornets took an early lead in the first inning 2-0. The game slowed down a bit, with Wautoma scoring 1 run in the fourth and fifth innings. Poynette managed to score 2 of their own in the fifth as well, but Wautoma knocked it out of the park in the sixth inning with 5 runs. Poynette was able to score one more run, but ultimately Wautoma took the win.
Ben Miller, Carson Rose, Chase Nitz, and Jett Richard each had a stolen base (SB). Miller made 2 runs, and Rose, Nitz, Peyton Pica, Tait Keller, and Mason Dobrecevich each had 1. The Hornets had a total of 4 hits over the seven innings.
The Hornets improved their record 5-7 for the 2025 season.
