Posted

There’s no place like home for Wautoma, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 74-64 victory over the Westfield Area Pioneers on Jan. 22. The Hornets’ offense took over in the second half to seal the home conference victory.
Peyton Pica led the Hornets with 32 points and seven rebounds. The team also got another strong performance courtesy of Skyler Royston, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards, including six assists. Marshal Woyak had a balanced game by scoring 10 points, dishing out five assists, and five steals. Elijah Graser added eight points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Carson Rose scored six points and tracked down 12 rebounds for the Hornets.
Also, Jett Richard had six rebounds as the Hornets out rebounded Westfield 45 to 32. Grant Kulibert and Ryan Young contributed energy and quality minutes off the bench as the Hornets improved their conference record to 2-4 and 4-10 overall.
The Pioneers conference record drops to 2-3 and 8-7 overall.
