The Almond-Bancroft Lady Eagles soared past Reedsville and Assumption to score their Regional softball championship win.
The Lady Eagles opened up their playoff season with a swift four-inning 15-0 win over the Reedsville Lady Panthers on May 26. Almond-Bancroft got most of their scoring in early, with their first 8 runs taking place in the first inning.
They would have to put up more of a fight when hosting Assumption Lady Royals on May 28. The score would be tied up by the fifth inning, with the Lady Royals taking a two-point lead in the sixth. Almond-Bancroft got back on their feet in the final inning, scoring 3 runs for the final score. They snuck past the Royals with a narrow 5-4 win in seven innings.
The Almond-Bancroft Lady Eagles will go head-to-head with the Wild Rose Ladycats during the WIAA Sectional semifinal on June 2. Scores will be available online, or in our next edition of the Argus.
