7/3/2025: A one-vehicle accident was reported at 9:30 p.m. on CTHB southbound in the Town of Richford. Richard Gissal, Wautoma, swerved to miss a deer in the roadway and lost control of the vehicle and rolled several times. Gissal failed to notify law enforcement of accident.
7/5/2025: A two-vehicle accident was reported at 1:05 p.m. on STH21 eastbound in the Town of Marion. Alexis Shanklin, Wautoma, pulled out of a gas station in Wautoma heading eastbound, after Crystal Ellenbecker-Kalmus, Wautoma, passed the driveway. Ellenbecker-Kalmus has a restraining order against Shanklin. Shanklin attempted to change lanes three times, but Ellenbecker-Kalmus pulled out and changed lanes to stay in front of Shanklin each time. The vehicles continued eastbound until they were near Silvercryst Rd. Ellenbecker-Kalmus stopped in the middle of the roadway and Shanklin struck the rear end of the vehicle. Shanklin stated she saw a small animal cross the road. The video of the event clearly shows there was no animal that crossed the road.
7/5/2025: A two-vehicle accident was reported at 6:45 p.m. on 4th Ct. in the Town of Plainfield. Pastor Damas, Madison, tried pulling into a parking spot, hitting legally parked Unit 2. Damas proceeded to back out and backed into the gas pump. Damas then left the scene and was stopped in another county. Charges referred for OWI.
7/13/2025: A one-vehicle accident was reported at 6 p.m. on CTHXX southbound in the Town of Aurora. Michael Hostak, Berlin, was operating motorcycle westbound, then turns left to go southbound. Hostak came around a curve and left roadway. Hostak lost control of the bike and went into the ditch where it came to rest.
