Wildcats win over Marion, 79-45
The Wild Rose boys basketball team took control against Marion sealing the 79-45 home victory on Jan. 16.
“It was nice to get one like that after getting the last few we had,” stated Wild Rose Head Coach Jim Komp. “We had some nice contributions from everyone. It was nice to be on the positive side of things.”
In the first half, everyone had a chance to play for the Wildcats, with seven players scoring. Alec VandeCastle led with 19 points, followed by: Tommy Friday, 11 points, including a two 3-pointes, Travis Jansen, 7 points, including a 3-pointer, Caleb Williams, 4 points and David Lauritzen, 3 points.
Marion’s Cody Clegg tried getting Marion in a better position as he hit two of his four second half 3-pointers early, but Wild Rose would strike back to keep a wide margin. Jeremiah Washington-Churchville put up 4 of his 8 second half points early to create a spark for Wild Rose.
