Wild Rose trounces Tigerton on the road
The Wild Rose boys basketball team traveled to Tigerton for their first game of the season on Nov. 28. Not only did the Wildcats head home with a dominating 68-11 non-conference win, they also set a school record for the fewest number of points allowed in a game.
“I am very pleased with our defensive effort tonight. Holding a team to that low of an output over 36 minutes was quite an accomplishment,” said Wild Rose Head Coach James Komp. “We had some typical first game issues with our shooting, but I loved our effort and intensity. Hopefully we can continue to play with that passion.”
Senior Alec VandeCastle led all scorers with 25 points, followed by Caleb Williams, 13 points and 12 assists; and Tommy Friday, 7 points and 13 rebounds.
