Wild Rose senior Jeremiah Washington-Churchville attempted to intercept a pass from a Stevens Point Pacelli player during the Feb. 8 home game. The Wildcats defeated the Panthers, 78-64.

Wild Rose outscores Pacelli, 78-64

A lot of scoring was done during the Feb. 8 boys basketball matchup, but it would be the Wild Rose Wildcats coming out on top over the Stevens Point Pacelli Panthers, 78-64.

The first half of play ended close, with the Wildcats having the edge, 31-28. Wild Rose’s Alec VandeCastle led both teams in the half with 17 points, shooting 2 of 4 at the free throw line and sinking a 3-pointer.

Andrew Blanker paced Pacelli with 13 points, which featured three 3-pointers, while Travis Jansen produced 8 points for Wild Rose, shooting 4 of 4 from the free throw line, and Cameron Cloud came up with two 3-pointers for the visitors.

Both teams had five scorers in the second half, only there was more separation in the score. Wild Rose’s Caleb Williams came up with 25 points, hitting 10 of 11 free throws and three 3-pointers. Pacelli’s biggest scorer in the half was Garret Parks with 11 points, while VandeCastle added 12 points to his total for the Wildcats.
