Wild Rose falls to Iola-Scandinavia
The Wild Rose boys basketball team experienced their own version of a winter chill as they fell to the Iola-Scandinavia T-Birds 76-65 at home on Dec. 21.
The Wildcats shot 19 percent over the first 10 minutes of play as the T-Birds took control early gaining a 30-10 lead. While the Wildcats did manage to warm up over the remainder of the game, they ultimately never were able to get the score under eight points.
“We need to have a bit more patience and better shot selection early,” stated Wild Rose Head Coach James Komp. “I think their quickness and athletic ability forced us to play at a little faster tempo than we prefer.”
Leading for the Wildcats were: Caleb Williams, 31 points, and Alec VandeCastle, 19 points.
