Wautoma falls short to Lady Pioneers

The Westfield Lady Pioneers escape with a 49-46 victory over host Wautoma in a South Central Conference late season rival game.

Westfield was able to create a little cushion 12-9 in the first quarter with Alysan Stauffacher providing two deep balls, however, Wautoma chipped away with an Emma Lehr’s three and couple free throws along with Kaylie Marks couple baskets for their scoring.

The Lady Hornets showed a strong stance in the second quarter outscoring Westfield 17-14 to even the score thanks in part to the team going 8-8 from the charity stripe. However, Wautoma dug themselves a little hole as they struggled to score in the third period as Westfield looked to be coasting with a 37-31 lead as four Pioneers provided the scoring.
