Wautoma falls to Mauston, 89-80

Hendrickson & Lois combine for 49 points

Even with two of Wautoma’s sharp shooters working together to tally 49 points, it wouldn’t be enough to secure the win over Mauston at home on Feb. 22. The Golden Eagles proved too much for the Hornets, walking away with 89-80 South Central Conference victory.

In the first half, sophomore Dante Borland led the Hornets recording 12 points, while junior Ryan Lois was close behind tallying 11 points.

Fellow junior Alex Hendrickson added 5 points to Wautoma’s total, including a 3-pointer, followed by: sophomore Kade Panich, 4 points, including a 3-pointer and 1 of 2 free throws; senior Jordan Reilly, a 3-pointer; and senior Cade Peterson, 2 points.

The second half showed off the juniors’ sharp shooting, with Hendrickson leading the charge sinking four 3-pointers from behind the arc as well as 8 of 9 free throws. Lois was close behind registering 11 second half points, featuring 3 of 4 free throws.
