Warriors win 2nd place at Hillsboro on Jan. 13

Seven wrestlers win weight classes at 10-team invite

With seven out of 14 wrestlers winning their weight classes, the Wautoma/Wild Rose Warriors wrestling took home another second place finish at the Hillsboro Invitational on Jan. 13. The Warriors were only outscored by Pittsville by 6 points at the 11-team invitational.

Pittsville (PV) won the invitational with 189 points, followed by: Wautoma/Wild Rose (WWR), 183; Parkview (PARK), 86.5; Onalaska/Luther (ONALLU), 76; Royall (RY), 69; Hillsboro (HB), 61.5; Westfield (WF) 52.5; Montello (MT), 44; Kickapp/La Farge (KL) 23; and Necedah (NE) 12.

Heading home undefeated for the Warriors were: Dylan Hughes, 113 lbs.; Creedon Abraham, 120 lbs.; Tanner Deist, 138 lbs.; Dillon Martin, 170 lbs.; Andrew Henschel, 182 lbs., Damean Netzler, 220 lbs.; and Lucas Hackney, 285 lbs.

Securing second place at 113 lbs. was Matthew Gaboury-Gourges, and finishing in third for Wautoma/Wild Rose was Ethan Kubasta at 126 lbs.
