Tri-County freshman Brooke Hopkins scores in 52-22 victory over the Almond-Bancroft Lady Eagles during Division 5 Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) Regional Playoff game Feb. 24. Hopkins led all scorers with 19 points.

Lady Penguins outscore Almond-Bancroft, 52-22

The Tri-County Lady Penguins played host to the Almond-Bancroft Lady Eagles in the first round of the Division 5 Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) Regional Playoffs Feb. 24.

Tri-County took control early and dominated the court defeating the Lady Eagles, 52-22.

Freshman Amber Baehman opened the first quarter with eight consecutive points for an 8-0 Lady Penguin lead. 

Lady Eagle sophomore Catie Schmidt followed with a two-point field goal for Almond-Bancroft’s first points of the game, 8-2.

Lady Penguin junior Sarah Lauer and senior Isabella Weekly each added 2 more points to the score and Schmidt responded with another jumper, allowing for a 12-4 Tri-County lead.
