Lady Penguins have successful 2023 season

  • Makenna Rettler, a Tri-County High School junior, hit the milestone of 1,000 career digs in her recent match against Rosholt on Oct. 10. She was honored for her achievement by her team with a banner, an autographed volleyball, a poster, and “1000” balloons. This is quite an accomplishment for this two time All-Conference player in just her junior year of her career.
    Makenna Rettler, a Tri-County High School junior, hit the milestone of 1,000 career digs in her recent match against Rosholt on Oct. 10. The Lady Penguins have been busy this volleyball season.
In early September, Kaila Foster, Makenna Rettler, and Cali Eastling were selected by other coaches for the All-Tournament Player Recognition. They went 5-2 in this two day tournament. Kaila Foster had 10 kills, 9 aces, 6 assists, 43 digs, and 1 block. Makenna Rettler had 51 kills, 18 aces, 69 assists, and 96 digs. Cali Eastling had 62 kills, 18 aces, 12 assists, 50 digs, and 11 blocks.
Makenna Rettler, a junior, hit the milestone of 1000 career digs in her recent match against Rosholt. This is quite an achievement for this two-time All-Conference player in just her junior year of her career. The Lady Penguins played a different set of teams in Wisconsin Dells to round out their regular season schedule on the Oct. 7. They went 3-1 with their only loss being to Ripon. They took third in this eight team tournament.
Makenna Rettler was selected as a Diving in the Dells All Tournament Player. Cali Eastling had 39 kills, 4 aces, 17 digs, and 7 blocks. Makenna Rettler had 16 kills, 7 aces, 38 assists, and 52 digs. Courtney Bauck had 8 kills, 3 aces, and 18 digs. Addyson Rettler had 6 kills, 15 assists, and 29 digs. Kaila Foster had 4 kills, 4 aces, 6 assists, 20 digs, and 2 blocks.
The Lady Penguins finished second in the CWC-South behind Pacelli with a 5-1 record. They finished the regular season 24-7 and earned a 2-seed in the Division 4 2A Sectional seeding process.
