Eagles win first round of playoffs

The Almond-Bancroft boys basketball team hosted the Marion Mustangs for the first round of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association regional playoffs on Feb. 27.

Even though Marion held their ground for the first few minutes of the game and continued to fight to the end, the Eagles ultimately came out on top, 74-46.

Almond-Bancroft found the first half of the game to be relatively easy as they charged past the Mustangs and went into the locker room at halftime, leading 39-18.

Coming out of halftime scoring, the Mustangs challenged the Eagles a little as they tallied 28 points, but the Eagles overpowered them yet again, adding another 35 points to the board. Of those 35 points, 13 came from free throws.
