Czarnecki runs in USATF National Junior Olympics

On Saturday, Dec. 10, Gavin Czarnecki ran in the USATF National Junior Olympics Cross Country Race, a 4K race in Hoover, AL. There were a total of 430 runners in the boy’s 13-14 year old race he ran, with a total of 4,000 total athletes participating in all events. Czarnecki took 56th place with a time of 13:24, which was a full minute and 1 second faster than his qualifying time at UW Parkside. Czarnecki began running in the Jailbreak Marathon when he was 8 years old and has run the 5K every year since. Czarnecki is the grandson of Dick and Donna Kalata, Wautoma.
