Westfield Music Department presents “Friends of the Arts” volunteer awards

Westfield Area School District’s Music Department was honored to present four new award winners for the “Friends of the Arts” Volunteer award this last month.  Members of the school district who work voluntarily for the music department are honored at the Spring concerts with a trophy and their name added to the perpetual plaque located outside the auditorium.  This year’s award winners included Sheri Cujak, Sandy Vogel, Terry Temanson, and Tracy Gardner.

Sheri Cujak has been a volunteer for the instrumental music program for over twenty years.  She has spent countless hours helping with concessions and trips.

Sandy Vogel has helped the music and theater departments throughout her children’s education and beyond.  Sandy has created and made costumes for Westfield’s drama productions, has altered many band uniforms over the years, and is always willing to help with sewing needs.

Terry Temanson has been volunteering for the drama and vocal music department for over twenty years.  He built the choral shell, has built all of the musical sets, stairs for the auditorium and graduation, has run the lights and sound for all productions, and helps with all extra building and technical needs.

Tracy Gardner has been a constant smiling face in both the instrumental and choral programs for many years, when her children were in school and even the years following their graduations.  Tracy has helped with fish fry’s, trip chaperoning, and fundraisers.  She has helped build the musical sets the past few years and travelled with both the choir and band on their Spring Break trips.

The music department appreciates all of the above people for all of their countless hours and contributions to the children of the Westfield School District.  The programs could not have the success they have had without all of their amazing talents.
