Westfield Junior awarded International Travel Scholarship

Subhead

Emma Hamilton, daughter of Patrick and Tammy Hamilton has been awarded the Junior Travel Study Abroad Scholarship by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.

Emma is currently in her third year of Westfield’s Spanish program.  Each year she has been chosen to take the National Spanish Exam.  Last spring, Emma tested higher than 98% of all other students in the nation that took the same level exam.  As a result, she was able to apply for this amazing scholarship.

Each year, the Junior Travel Study Abroad Scholarship provides eligible students the opportunity to travel to and study the language and the culture of a Spanish-speaking country or territory. The award includes flight, local transportation, lodging, tours, meals, and insurance. This July, students will be traveling to San Juan, Puerto Rico for nine days.

Congratulations is extended to Emma and to those that helped her attain this fantastic award.
