Tri-County 7th and 8th grade Students of the Month

Subhead

Makayla Garcia-Ruiz, seventh grade, has slowly crept out of her shell and is embracing being an active, enthusiastic learner in Dawn Byrum’s class and Ms. Byrum has enjoyed watching her.  Makayla came to class shy and hesitant to be involved, but after a little bit of reassurance, she has blossomed and often assists other students.  She actively asks questions, checks in on the work she has done and looks for confirmation that her efforts were successful.

Ms. Byrum hopes to continue to see her grow in positivity and hopes her enthusiasm becomes contagious.  Makayla gives 100 percent of herself in class.

Seventh grader, Ethan Murray, is a hard worker and takes his schoolwork very seriously according to Kasey Rader.  Ethan has no problem offering different viewpoints to his classmates in a way that is respectful.  Ms. Rader can also see that he has a passion for citizenship, which is such a cool thing to see at his age.

Melanie Prince, eighth grade, is doing a fantastic job in art according to Jen Montgomery.  Melanie is kind and respectful in class.  When she has questions, she is not afraid to ask.  Mrs. Montgomery said that Melanie has worked hard in class to give her best effort and make quality work.  She is a joy to have in class.

An eighth grader, Makenna Rettler, is great at balancing her academics and athletics said Kasey Rader.  It is obvious she puts 100% into everything she does and sets a great example for her peers.  Dawn Byrum has admired Makenna since last year when TC went virtual.  Makenna reached out when she didn’t understand and gave feedback on the work that was assigned.  Ms. Byrum commended her for excelling in a pandemic.  Makenna is a breath of fresh air and it appears she loves to learn.  She has given up her lunch hour to help some other math students that needed a little boost.  She works hard, is focused, and strives to do her best each and every day.  Makenna is a positive leader in the Class of 2025.
