Westfield Pioneers come back in the fifth inning over Wautoma Hornets

The Wautoma Hornets opened their conference season with the Westfield Pioneers, for an April 18 baseball game. Wautoma started strong in the first three innings. Hitters were able to bring Clayton Wilcox and Brett Salm home, giving the Hornets the team a 2-point advantage. Another hit gave the Hornets their final point in the game at the bottom of the third inning. The Pioneers finally got a point on the board in the fourth inning. By the fifth inning the Pioneers came alive, taking a 6-3 lead over the Hornets. The Pioneers took home a conference win over the Hornets, 6-3. Westfield is now 2-1 in the South Central Conference and 5-2 overall. The Hornets are now 0-1 in conference play and 4-2 overall.
