Wautoma/Wild Rose Warriors host wrestling tournament

The Wautoma/Wild Rose Warriors hosted three wrestling teams on Jan. 7 at Wautoma High School. “Overall we wrestled well individually,” commented Assistant Coach Adam Vaughan, “With six starters out, we are taking a more individual approach. We hope to be healthy by regionals. Our wrestlers are improving weekly and that is what we like to see.”

The Warriors took on one Almond-Bancroft wrestler. The team also faced up against Manawa and Mauston, with each match being battled for six minutes.

Overall scores were: Wautoma/Wild Rose vs. Mauston, lost 42-18; Wautoma/Wild Rose vs. Almond-Bancroft, won 36-0; and Wautoma/Wild Rose vs. Manawa, lost 33-21.

106 lbs. – Isai Lezama went 2-1.

113 lbs. – Graham Vissers went 2-1.

160 lbs. – Colton Martin went 3-0.

170 lbs. – Christian Weiss went 2-1.

182 lbs. – Hunter Netzler went 3-0.

HWT – Andrew Hernandez went 2-1.
