Wautoma/Wild Rose Boys and Girls Harriers win at Adams-Friendship


On Oct. 8, the Wautoma/Wild Rose Cross Country teams competed in a quadrangular meet at the Moundview Golf Course in Friendship, Wisconsin.

The boys team placed first with 26 points, edging out Nekoosa/Port Edwards who scored 30 points. Adams-Friendship and Westfield had incomplete teams. Aiden Doherty placed first to pace the Hornet/Wildcat Harriers followed by Ashton Schwartzman finishing second. Elijah Williams placed eighth, Andrew Skogstad 12th, Espn Marquez 18th, Foster Skweres 19th, and Mason Heuer 20th.

The Hornet/Wildcat girls took the first four places leading up to a score of 19. Adams-Friendship scored 53, Westfield 58, with Nekoosa/Port Edwards having an incomplete team. Mya Bahr led the Hornet/Wildcats with a first place finish, followed by Teagan Reitz second, Madylyn Woyak third, Laney Panich fourth, Jaidyn Knueppel 10th, Layla Graser 13th, and Clare Williams 14th. In the Junior Varsity Race, Isybela Woyak placed first, Torrance Marquez second, Kinsey Reynolds third, and Nina Skweres fourth.

The Wautoma/Wild Har-riers finished out their regular season on Oct. 13 at the South Central Conference Cross Country Championships, held at the Moundview Golf Course in Friendship. On Oct. 20 the Harriers will compete in the WIAA Sub-Sectional Meet at Shepherd’s Meadow Golf Course in Poynette.
