Wautoma Softball victorious against Berlin

The Wautoma softball team cruised to a 9-0 win April 3rd versus Berlin in non-conference action. Sophomore pitcher Liv Cieslik was able to keep the Indian bats in check picking up the win while tossing 6 scoreless innings, 8 K’s, 3 BB’s, 2 hits and 2 HBP’s. Larissa Piechowski closed the game while striking out two with a walk. Cieslik received help from her slick shortstop Ava Stahl as she delivered on a couple beautiful plays. Wautoma scored first in the bottom of one off of five hits with Sydney Dunn and Cieslik collecting RBI’s. The Hornets stretched the lead in the third inning tallying six runs compliments to five hits, a walk and HPB to stretch the lead to 8-0. Stahl had a two-RBI double with Cieslik and Liv Weiss each having RBI singles. Wautoma’s final scoring came in the 4th inning on a Weiss bases loaded RBI free pass. The Lady Hornet offensive prowess buzzed 13 total hits with Stahl (3x5, 2B, 2 RBI’s, 2 SB’s, 2 runs), Dunn (2x4, RBI, BB), Ava Butt (2x3, SB, 2 runs), Bryn Gunderson (2x4, SB, 2 runs), Cieslik (2x3, 3 SB’s, 2 RBI’s, BB), Brianna Buechner (1x4) and Weiss (1x2, 2 RBI’s, BB, SAC) providing the attack. The Hornet softball team improved to 2-3 overall on the season with a non-conference game at old-ECC foe Winneconne on April 6.
