Penguins fought hard in homecoming game

The Tri-County Penguins fought hard together during their Oct. 7 homecoming game against the Marion-Tigerton Tigercatz.

It was looking like a win for the Penguins until the last second, with the Tigercatz taking home the close win, 24-26.

Quarterback Cayden Weis completed 6 passes with 91 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 tackles defensively.

Jovanni Mata had 1 catch for 6 yards and a touchdown. Mata was also able to complete 10 rushing attempts for 78 yards and 1 catch for 6 yards. Jake Makaryk had 2 catches for 40 yards, 3 rushing attempts for 31 yards and 5 tackles defensively. Luis Garcia made 2 catches for 41 yards and a touchdown. Garcia also made 4 tackles with 1 interception. Alfonso Rangel ended with 1 catch for 4 yards and 2 tackles

Lawson Jelinski made the most tackles throughout the game, recording 12 tackles followed by Brendan Brewer with 2 and Aidan Brewer with 1. Nate Severin had 6 tackles, along with 1 blocked punt and 1 fumble scored for a touchdown.
