Lady Eagles take down Wild Rose Ladycats

The Almond-Bancroft Lady Eagles scored a 54-33 win over the Wild Rose Ladycats during a Dec. 2 girls’ basketball game at Almond-Bancroft High School.

Wild Rose took control of the court in the first half of the game, scoring a 23-19 lead over Almond-Bancroft. The Lady Eagles came alive in the second half, scoring 35 points over the Ladycats’ 10 points.

Laney Havlovitz came out as the top scorer for the Wild Rose Ladycats with 17 points, including two 2-pointers, one 3-pointer, and 10 of 11 free throws. Emica Marquez had 11 points on the board, with four 2-pointers and one 3-pointer. Mya Bahr had 4 points and Kaitlyn Harley-Little had 1 point.

Almond-Bancroft’s top scorer Jillian Newby put 13 points on the board, including one 2 and 3-pointer and 8 free throws. Lexie Dernbach had 12 points on the board, including two 2 and 3-pointers and 2 free throws. Oakley Omernick scored 8 points with two 2-pointers and 4 free throws, Raegen Omernik scored 7 points with one 2 and 3-pointer and 2 free throws, and Madalyn Potts scored 6 points with two 2-pointers and 2 free throws. Mya Dernbach and Aaliyah Newby scored 4 points each.
