Almond-Bancroft claims regional champ title in close win 38-36

The Almond-Bancroft Lady Eagles and Oshkosh’s Lourdes Academy were head to head for the regional championship on Feb. 13.

The game stayed close for both halves, with Almond down by one 17-16. The second half was also tight, but Mikala Seymour came through for the Lady Eagles with a winning shot and just seconds left on the clock. The game ended with a close score of 38-36 in favor of Almond-Bancroft.

Makala Seymour and Lexie Dernbach were both top scorers for the Lady Eagles with 10 points each. Chloee Dernbach had 8 points with two 3-pointers. Jillian Newby brought 5 points to the board, including one 3. Carlee Lamb had 3 points and Raegen Omernick, 2.

The Lady Eagles will now advance to the sectional game that will be played in South Wane on Thursday, Feb. 18.
