WR residents voice appreciation for local groups
To the Editor:
We would like to take a moment and publicly voice our appreciation for Vicki Martin of the Wild Rose Kiwanis and Patterson Memorial Library Director Kent Barnard for giving up their time and energy in orchestrating a beautiful Family Day on Sunday, July 16.
About 48 family members, from infants to grandparents, met at 8:15 a.m. at the Wild Rose Patterson Library to board a bus ride to Madison.
The first stop was the Henry Vilas Zoo where there was family-friendly fun for all to enjoy. The next stop on the tour was at the Madison’s Children’s Museum, where the families could enjoy a fun and interactive time at a whimsical and wonderful place. The final stop was at the Madison State Capitol where families could experience the beauty and grandeur of Wisconsin’s Capitol building.
The Wild Rose Kiwanis and Patterson Library sponsored the trip with a brat fry held on Saturday, July 8, to help to raise funds for the transportation and attendance costs. Families were asked to donate $2 per child and $3 per adult as the total trip cost including admission and transportation. Donations were not necessary and all were invited and encouraged to attend.
We feel very fortunate to live in the town of Wild Rose, which has two such special groups. Both hold enjoyable events and work to keep Wild Rose a great place to live and visit.
Vicki and Mr. Kent helped to orchestrate a wonderful family day and we appreciate all your hard work and dedication.
