Charette announces 29-day local Red Kettle Campaign

To the Editor;

It’s that time of year again. The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign is sending out the following letter to over 20 different groups and organizations, in pursuit of recruiting volunteer participation (ringing the bell). We also have volunteers at large from the community filling in when there are hours left open. If you would like to volunteer, please call at the number below.

The fact that last year’s Red Kettle Campaign was the best ever in the history of Waushara County was entirely due to the response of organizations such as yours.
Over 23 different clubs, churches, professional groups, and organizations came together last year to fill worksheets of bell ringing hours (such as enclosed with this letter). The response was overwhelming last year, both in filling the scheduled worksheets, and by the public recognizing your contribution of time via donating generously.

Your group will have the confidence that just about 90 percent of all money collected, stays in Waushara County to benefit our own citizens.
This year, we will have bell ringing for a 29-day campaign beginning Saturday, Nov. 19 thru Fri. Dec. 23. We never ring the bells on Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Eve Day, but we will have 420 hours of bell ringing (in Wautoma alone) during this period.

The locations again are all indoor stations at StoneRidge, Copps and Shopko. As always, if standing is not desired, bell ringers are asked to bring a stool or folding chair. We need to remind you that there is not one paid position in Waushara County, but rather our Salvation Army Campaign exists on volunteers only. All you will get in return is group recognition, in the media and at kettle sites, during your time period.

We appreciate your devotion to this and your part in this awesome campaign. For more information, contact Roger Charette at 920-787- 4250.
Thanks again and have a blessed season,

/s/ Roger Charette, Wau-shara County Salvation Army Volunteer
