Bill Schmitt, 85 of Wild Rose WI formerly of Jackson WI passed away peacefully at Rosemore Village with family by his side. He was born January 13, 1938 in Hubertus WI. On August 13,1960 he was united in marriage to Bernedine Kannenberg of 63 years.
Bill is survived by five children: Terry (Bob) Beder of Almond, Jeff Schmitt of Mayville, Ron Schmitt of Montello, Scott Schmitt of Mayville, Brenda (Matthew) Hammack of Hartford; eleven grandchildren Josh Beder, Joelle (Kenny) Young, Courtney (Dan) Meyer, Kayla (Justin Mondiek), Benjamin (Dakath Hall) Schmitt, Justin Fetkenhauer, Amber (Jeremy) Rogers, Jake (Katie) Fetkenhaur, Spencer (Katie) Hansen, Sam Hansen, Logan (Kaleith Kraus), Eric Hansen, son-in-law and 13 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by brother: Casper Schimtt Jr, Mary Schwalenburg, Rosie Schwai, Kathy Philippi; brother in-law: LeRoy Kannenberg, other relatives and friends.
Bill enjoyed horseshoes, bowling, snowmobiling with the Jackson Moonlighters, camping with the Hartford Y'Knots and deer hunting with his sons. He enjoyed the gatherings of family and friends. He made many friends through the Wild Rose Lions Club and played Santa Claus for many families in the area.
He is preceded in death by daughter, Malinda Hansen and 5 brothers.
The Memorial Mass will on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Church, 8611 Hwy 54 Almond WI The visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 9:30am until the time of Mass. Funeral services is provided by Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca WI.
