THOMAS A. PETERSON

Thomas Arthur Peterson, age 85, of the Town of Crystal Lake, rural Neshkoro, WI passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at his home.

He was born December 2, 1936 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Walter and Mae (Safford) Peterson. Tom served his country in the Army National Guard for six years. He was a policeman for the City of Milwaukee Police Department for 46 years until his retirement.

Tom loved the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed fishing (but not ice fishing.). Tom loved to plant apple trees and vegetables for many years. He enjoyed sharing produce with family and friends. He was an accomplished boat enthusiast, acquiring a fleet license for many boats and canoes. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by four children: Todd A. (Wendy) Peterson, Gale’s Ferry, CT, Kathleen Mae (Ralph) Mickle, Doyline, LA, Michael (Carol) Peterson, Rainsville, AL and Kathleen Mae Peterson, Wautoma, WI; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; his former wife: Christina Hunt,
Neshkoro, WI; “nephew”: Joel (Cathy) Potega and their son J.T., Milwaukee, WI. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Frederick Peterson; his longtime companion: Carol Scudder, and by his canine companion Kenny.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma, WI. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Berlin. Online condolences can be found at www.leiknessfuneralhome.com
