Robert “Bob” G. Semrow, age 86, of Richford passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah.
He was born December 4, 1937 the son of George and Mildred (Rapaich) Semrow. He married Barbara Jean Eastman on October 31, 1964. They shared a lifetime of adventures together. Bob was a 1956 graduate of Wautoma High School. He served two years in the U.S. Army, deployed to Germany for part of his tour. Bob worked for the DNR in Adams. Later, he worked at Rockwell International in Oshkosh and purchased the family farm during this period. He spent many years driving school buses for Wautoma and Westfield School Districts while continuing to farm. There are probably few roads he hasn’t traveled in the area. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Richford. He served as a director for Adams Columbia Electric Cooperative for many years. He also was a supervisor of the Town of Richford. Bob loved anything related to agriculture. Anyone who knew Bob will remember him for his gift of gab. He always had many stories to tell and many roads to travel with Barb as his copilot.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Semrow; two sons, Rodney and Russell; two sisters, Virginia “Ginny” Bruch, Oshkosh, Marlene (John) Sutphen, Lowell, IN; one brother, Richard (Sue) Semrow, Coloma; five grandchildren, Brittney, Trevor, Zander, Lauren and Haley. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Joyce Barthels; three brothers-in-law, Donald Bruch, Jerry Eastman and Kenneth Eastman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Richford with Rev. Blaine Niskanen officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Richford Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
