Richard Fredrick “Dick” “Frenchie” Buhrow, age 72 of Lohrville, passed away Friday evening, October 20, 2023 at ThedaCare Medical Center in Berlin.
He was born January 23, 1951 in Berlin, the son of Donna Lee Alice Buhrow. He was adopted by his grandparents, Fred and Laura Buhrow in infancy.
He was raised on the rural Berlin family farm, and was a 1969 Graduate of the Berlin High School. Frenchie Served his country in the United States Navy for four years from 1969 to 1973. He was employed by the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier in Oshkosh for a number of years. He then owned and operated A-1 Construction, which he operated from his home in Lohrville with his son, Fred. He did home repairs, construction, and painting for many people in the area. He was dedicated, thorough, and reliable for the many people he helped with his company. He was also an avid “rock hound.”
Survivors include his son, Fred (Samantha) Buhrow and 2 grandchildren, Zen and Karma Buhrow; his brothers and sisters, Mark (Ellen) Buhrow, Harley, Patrick, and Chuck (Sue) Gutche, Darlene (Cliff Waite), Linda Fernandez, Donna (Don) Wenzel, and Cynthia (Jeff Volkenant) Gutche, a brother-in-law, Dave Fernandez, and a very special friend, Mary Jo Lesnick of Oshkosh.
Frenchie is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by mother, Donna Lee (Buhrow) Gutche, adopted parents, Frederick and Laura (Posorski) Buhrow, his step-dad, Harley Gutche, Sr. and his brothers, Arthur and Alton Buhrow, George, William, Lyle and Robert Gutche.
A Celebration of Frenchie’s life will be held on Saturday, November 4th. (PLEASE NOTE THE DATE) from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Redgranite Lions Club Hall 145 Dearborn Street (Behind the Redgranite Public Library). Full Military Honors will be rendered at 1:00 P,M. Saturday at the Lions Club Hall. A private inurnment, at a later date will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Auroraville.
A Memorial will be established in Frenchie’s Memory.
