It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Norma Lee Williams, on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at the age of 91 years old. Beloved wife of Marvin Williams.
Norma the daughter of the late father Norman Herrington and mother Marguerite Herrington. Norma was born February 12, 1932 into a family of three children in Chicago, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her older sister Donna Dee Myers and her loving memory of her grandson Garrett Williams, and survived by her brother Jim Herrington.
Norma in her early years moved to Waushara County, Wild Rose, Wisconsin and completed her high school education in Waupaca and continued her education at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point with a degree in education. At the age of 21 she married Marvin Williams of Wild Rose at the Wild Rose Presbyterian Church. They moved to Hometown, Illinois and raised a family of three boys, loving mother of Mark (Mary), Scott (Annette), and Glen (Linda) Williams. In 1972 Norma obtained a job as a school teacher and taught second grade for over 20 years at Nathan Hale Primary School in Blue Island, Illinois, where she received numerous awards for outstanding teaching. Norma and Marvin still had several family members in the Wild Rose area and soon acquired a home in town. In retirement they both loved their fishing trips to northern Wisconsin and Canada. She also loved reading, sports, poetry, and singing in church. Norma was focused on family and would love to read books with her 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11 AM at the Wild Rose Presbyterian Church. 501 Jackson Street Wild Rose, WI 54984. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the time of service at church. Pastor Alyson Janke will be officiating. Burial will take place at Caersalem Cemetery following the service. There will be a celebration of life and fellowship following burial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to “Garret John Williams Memorial Fund”.
