Muriel J. Ahlborn, age 77, of Hancock, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, October 31, 2023 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born February 10, 1946 in Milwaukee the daughter of Dairel and Gertrude (Mattox) Droste. She married Charles G. Ahlborn Sr. on November 2, 1974 in West Allis. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2011.
Muriel grew up in the Milwaukee area where she graduated Cudahy High School in 1964. She met Charles in 1963 and they were later married. She worked at Allen Bradley for 20+ years until exclusively focusing her time on her family as a dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially during the holidays, playing cards, watching and feeding wildlife, going on vacations, and visiting casinos. She and Charles moved to rural Hancock in 1995 after Charles’s retirement.
She is survived by her four children, Jeff (Debra) Ahlborn, Brenda (Scott) Landowski, Darren (Jamie) Ahlborn, Rick (Dawn) Ahlborn; 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; her loving brother, Ron Droste and sister, Norene Ahlborn; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son Charles Jr. and sisters, Elma Leitenberger and Linda Yonke. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. Muriel will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Hancock Cemetery.
