Mildred Marie Davis, 94, Mayville, passed away on October 6, 2014 at the Mayville Nursing Center. 

She was born in Bear Valley on Nov. 13, 1919, the daughter of Algie and Clara (Oleson) Hendricks. At the age of 3 years, after the death of her mother, she was adopted by Walter and Myrtle Golla. She grew up and attended school in the Plainfield and Bancroft area. She was married in 1937 to Glenn W. Bender, Bancroft. In 1948, she married Robert J. Davis, Plainfield. She was a mother and stepmother to 11 children.

Her ancestors have been in America since its beginning in 1620 when her 10th great-grandfather, Edward Doty, arrived on the Mayflower. Two of her ancestors were found to have fought in the Revolutionary War and her grandfather, James Madison Hendricks, fought in the Civil War. 

She is survived by six children: Robert Davis, Phoenix, AZ; Ronald Bender, Plainfield, Glenwood (Kathy) Bender, Janesville, Carol (Bob) Loefer, Eagle, Ivan (Kris) Davis, Jefferson, and Cynthia (Jeff) Helms, Oark, AR. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren. 

Mildred was proceeded in death by five children: Clarence Bruce Bender, Plainfield, Bennie Bender, Bancroft, George Davis, Whitewater, and Joyce (Davis) Sordahl, Stoughton, and Conrad Bender, Fort Atkinson. 

Interment will be held at the Plainfield Cemetery at a later date.
