Micheal J. Barnes, age 43, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on February 25, 2021 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital from complications of a heart attack.

Services will be at 5 p.m. on Thursday March 4, at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Pastor Eric Hambrock will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Hancock Cemetery in Hancock.

Micheal Barnes was born on June 17, 1977 in Wild Rose to Harold and Louise (Grigoliunas) Barnes. He grew up in Hancock and graduated in 1997 from Tri- County High School.  Mike was a former Hancock volunteer Firefighter. He also worked for J & W Lawn Care and Snow Removal.

Mike married Meghan Henke on June 26, 2010 in Wisconsin Rapids.  Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching NASCAR and WWE wrestling. Mike was an exceptional cook and enjoyed smoking and grilling for his family and friends. He loved his three dogs.

Mike is survived by his wife, Meghan, step sons: Mitch (Becca Stelzer) Henke and Noah (Mykayla Boone) Henke, and step grandson, Owen Henke, all of Wisconsin Rapids; his father Harry Barnes and sister Tina (Steve) Ziaya of Hancock; brother Brian (Melissa) Barnes of Hewitt; nieces and nephew: Taylor, Travis, and Kimberlee Ziaya and Skylar and Reid Barnes; his mother-in-law, Joy Henke-Roginski of Wisconsin Rapids; father-in-law, Tom (Kim) Kolo of Loveland, CO; and uncle John Grigoliunas of Hancock.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Louise Barnes and infant sister, Gail.
