MARIE ANN HOLMES

Subhead

Marie Ann Holmes, age 77, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 6, 2021.  She was born in Neenah on June 22, 1944, the daughter of the late Alvin and Dorothy (Mayer) Miracle.  On September 26, 1964 she married the love of her life, Kenneth Holmes at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winneconne.  Ken and Marie spent all their time together and shared 57 wonderful years creating memories.

Marie worked many years at Case alongside her husband and retired from S.C.A. in 2004.  Marie had many interests including crocheting, puzzles, traveling, always working on projects around the house with Ken and many local and long-distance casino trips.  If there was a casino nearby, she wanted to see it.

Marie will be remembered for her continual loving and giving nature which was present in everything she did. She would do anything for anyone and always there to help and listen.  The love she had for her family and friends had no boundaries.  One small example of her abundance of energy and desire to help others was the trip Ken and Marie took in 2006 to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.  With no destination in mind, they loaded up their van with tools and an air mattress to sleep on and headed south.  They found themselves in Waveland, MS where they met, helped and formed lifelong friends.

Marie is survived by her husband, Ken; children; Tami Holmes and her son, Bryce Peters; Laura (Douglas) Fraleigh and their children: Jacob Hanson and Olivia Fraleigh; and Scott (Stacey) Holmes and their children: Madison and Jayden.  In addition to her loving family, Marie had numerous friends and neighbors including but not limited to Mike and Sue, Cathy and Terry, Brian and Linda and Mark and Cheryl.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin “Ollie” and Irene Miracle, Dorothy (Mayer) and Kenneth “Bud” Williams, Mother and Father in law Frank and Norma Holmes and brothers Arthur and Bertram Miracle.

A visitation was held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, at Lakeview Memorial Park, 2786 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh.  Private inurnment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park.
