MAJEL C. IRISH

Mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Majel C. ‘Midge” Irish, age 86 of Wautoma, was peacefully reunited with the love of her life Edgar Lewis “Ed” Irish Wednesday evening, August 5, 2020 at her home in Wautoma.  She was cradled in the love of her family.

Midge was born November 28, 1933 in Paxton, Nebraska, a daughter of Charles and Hazel (Smith) Cunningham.  She Married Ed November 12, 1955 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.  Ed preceded Midge in death May 2, 2001 after 46 years of Marriage.

Ed and Midge were a colossally proud military family, and lived in many places throughout their marriage.  They ultimately retired in Wautoma in 1984.

They had five children that meant the world to them; Craig, Debra, Pam, Mark, and Diahn.

Majel loved the holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Her home was always decorated to the fullest- inside and outside.  She loved cooking, and took pride in how she could put out a Thanksgiving dinner that was second to none.  She stressed how important school and education are, and was a believer of art and music being prevalent in that education.  She played the piano very well, and loved her time making that piano sing.  If there was a garage sale in a twenty mile radius, you were probably going to see her there.  She enjoyed her flower gardening, and even raised palm trees in the house.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Deb Irish of Oshkosh, Pam (the late Doug) Reedy of Tucson, Arizona, and Diahn (Clint) Zimbeck of Eagle River, WI; two sons, Craig Irish of Wautoma, and Mark (Sheri) Irish of Wautoma; 17 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren, other relatives and dear friends,

Majel was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, her parents, and a sister, Patti.

A Celebration of Majel’s Life will be held at a later date due to the Coronavirus situation.
