In loving memory of Larry Curtis age 82. Born in Muncie IN, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021 with his daughter Lorie, of Gretna LA and his partner of 23 years, Linda Schutte, by his side at Gunderson Hospital of
LaCrosse.

Larry enjoyed life. He talked to everyone and had many jokes to tell and always offered a helping hand. He loved fishing and traveling, made a good bean soup, chicken and dumplings and the best ham on thanksgiving and Christmas.

He served in the United States Navy from 1956-1958 in New Orleans, LA. Larry later worked for Drivers Service Incorporated out of Chicago where he delivered steel for Central States Steel, retiring after more than 30 years of dedicated service.

In 2013, he became a Master Mason with the help of his mentor Brett Leanna. In 2016, Larry advanced becoming a Noble of Shriners International. He enjoyed riding a scooter with the ZOR Mavericks in many parades throughout Wisconsin. He also volunteered transporting patients to the Shriners Hospital for Children. Larry made many great friends with the Mavericks, and several became known as the “Three Amigos”, Darrell Smith, Mike Kallas and Larry.

Larry is survived by his daughters, Lorie Oser, Gretna LA, Jamie Massey (Johnny), Melissa Curtis (Charles), of Muncie, IN, Trina Cool (Eric) New Port Richey, FL; Partner, Linda Shutte; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his buddy and beloved dog, Reggie; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Williard and Mildred Curtis; brother, Robert “Bob” Curtis; nephew, “Little” Robert Curtis; son-in-law Gary Mercer; and grandson, Tyler Curtis.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place, a celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
