Janet “Headband Jan” Vanvoorhis, age 59, passed away Friday, February 26. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to Louis and Elsie (Bjorklund) Ridarelli on August 30, 1961.

Jan had a big heart and loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her stubborn nature and her sense of humor. Jan loved to go to the casino, play scratch off cards, shoot pool and play cards as well as dice. She also loved to look for deals at local thrift stores and rummage sales. Jan always loved to rearrange her furniture thanks to her titanium knees. She was also fond of socializing with her coffee clutch.

Jan is survived by her daughter, Amanda (Daniel) Yahr; mother, Elsie Ridarelli; grandchildren, Carson and Bently; brother, Bill (Veluni) Ridarelli; as well as her special friend of 35 years Lee Jacoby, and Betty Kikendall. She is further survived by her nieces, Emily, Holly and Keli, and nephews, Bill Jr., Zac, and Jacob as well as many other friends and family.

Preceding her in death are her sister, Nadine Blatz; father, Louis Ridarelli; special friend, Becky; and many aunts and uncles.
