JAMES “JIMMY” DAYE

James Wilbur “Jimmy” Daye age 68 of Wautoma, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at his home after a lengthy illness.  He was born on December 16, 1952 in Berlin, the son of Wilbur and Alice (Bray) Daye.

Jimmy was a graduate of Wautoma High School.  After graduation, he farmed on the family farm in the town of Dakota for his entire life.  He also did a great deal of trucking and enjoyed seeing different parts of the country.  He is survived by his sister, Beverly Daye, Wautoma; special niece, Sara (Renato) Bargaehr, and many lifelong friends including John Groskreutz, Brad Netzler, Rodney Schlueter, Adlai Herschberger, and Elward Engle.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jimmy loved farming, hunting and fishing. He loved all God’s creatures, especially his dogs and the orphaned animals he raised.  Jimmy was an extremely hard worker.  He was happiest being outdoors.  He really enjoyed spending time with his large circle of friends sharing funny stories and bringing smiles to everyone’s faces with his positive attitude toward life and his great sense of humor.  He will be dearly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Crossroads Family Church, 640 South Water Street, Wautoma.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services. Jim will be laid to rest next to his parents in the North Dakota Cemetery, Town of Dakota, Waushara County, WI.
